📍 Drop a Pin to Calculate Sun Azimuth

The Bagnold Sun Compass was developed by explorer Ralph Bagnold to help navigate vast, compass-unfriendly deserts like the Sahara. Rather than relying on magnetic fields, it uses the sun's position — requiring the navigator to know the sun's azimuth for their location, date, and time.

This app calculates those precise azimuth values based on your dropped pin — giving you the essential data needed to use a solar compass anywhere in the world. It was created for the MakerWorld hiking design challenge, alongside a 3D-printed replica of the original Bagnold compass.
